“Ah…” murmured Kairi as she lay on Sora’s laps. “Isn’t the sunset beautiful on Destiny Island?”

“Yeah.” agreed Namine as she leaned on Roxas’ shoulder, staring beyond the horizon.

The scene on Destiny Island was very calm and tranquil. The wind were gently blowing the leaves of palm trees, the waves were reflecting the sun rays. Sora, Kairi, Roxas and Namine were spending a lovely Saturday playing on the beach and watching the sun disappearing into the horizon as they discussed tomorrow event; Valentine’s Day.

“Thank God that Valentines Day is on a Sunday.” Sora said as he stroked Kairi’s long, auburn hair.

Roxas who was frowning towards the horizon said nothing.

“Sora is taking me to watch a love film!” said Kairi as she touched Sora’s cheeks and giggled.

“Well…” Namine began as she snuggled next to Roxas. “We’re going window-shopping at the new mall! Right, Roxas?”

Roxas still looking at the sea did not answered her.

“Is something wrong?” asked Sora as he turned to his nobody.

“Well…” Roxas answered for the past 30 minutes. “I was thinking about spending Valentines Day together.”

“Wah?” exclaimed Sora, Kairi and Namine in unison.

“I mean”, said Roxas as he frowned trying to say the correct words. “Since we’re connected and stuff, we should always stay together. And besides”, he said with a smile. “We always have fun together.”

“Yeah!” cried Namine as she gave Roxas a hug. “That’s a great idea!”

“Genius!” exclaimed Kairi but asked, “But where can we go? Going to the movies or the café is not my idea of being together.”

They were all quiet trying think of a solution. It was Sora who broke the silence.

“I know!” he said excitedly to the others. “Listen, my mom just told me that there will be an amusement park tomorrow. Just for Valentine Day! What’s more, I just check it this morning and they have everything! Roller Coaster, game booths…”

Before Sora could finish his list of entertainments of the amusement park, both Namine and Kairi shriek of delight.

“An Amusement Park?”  Cried Namine. “Here?”

“I always wanted to go to one!” Kairi cried and hugged Sora tightly. “Sora, you’re amazing!!”

Sora chuckled and Roxas grinned.

“Yes Sora”, Roxas said with mock admiration. “Not bad, for a blockhead!”

Sora’s smile was replaced with a snarl.

“That’s it!” he growled and launched at Roxas. Both of them were on the ground brawling. While Namine was covering her face with her hands, Kairi was rooting for Sora. After a few minutes, both boys were on their fours, panting.

“We will finish this another time.” growled Roxas.

“Anytime you want.” Sora replied with a grin.

Then both of them felled down laughing.

“You two act like small kids.” Kairi half-laughing and half-lecturing as she and Namine helped them on their feet.

After Sora and Roxas calmed down, Sora said, “So we’re going or what?”

“You bet!” was the reply.

The next day, Destiny Island was a different place. Pink and red ribbons were tied to every lamppost, kissing booths and stalls selling chocolates and flowers were set up on the streets, a band was playing love songs in the market-place and a moogle dressed as Cupid was roaming the village trying to look for a perfect couple to shoot. (Although the moogle’s bow and arrow were not magical as Cupid’s but the arrows are spite with love potion)

Sora and Roxas were waiting in the market-place for the girls. They have already bought Kairi’s and Namine’s chocolates and flowers. The band were playing ‘Kiss the Girl’ when Roxas impatiently looked at his watch.

“What taking them so long?” he said glaring at his watch.

Sora merely shrugged. “You know girls, they just love putting on make-up or deciding which dress they want to wear.”

“I know but…” before Roxas could finish his sentence, he saw Kairi and Namine running towards them. Roxas jaws almost dropped and he wished he could take his words back. Kairi was dressed in a sleeveless red T-shirt and a pink-coloured mini-skirt while Namine was dressed in a white T-shirt with the word ‘Cute’ on it and blue jeans.

“Wow Kairi”, Sora said as he stared at her. “You’re beautiful!”

“Thank you Sora.” Kairi beamed.

Roxas just stared at Namine.

“Na….Na…. Mine…” stammered Roxas. “You… look…”

“Cute?” asked Namine also blushing.

“Yeah”, grunted Roxas who quickly recovered. “Cute.”

Namine looked slightly crestfallen while Kairi gave Roxas a glare.

“Come on guys!” Sora said trying to break the uncomfortable moment. “Why not we go to the amusement park now?”

Acting as if nothing happened the four of them rushed towards the amusement park. When they reached there, everything that Sora said about the amusement park was true. Roller coaster were already in full swing, rides were full of happy people, screams were coming from the haunted house and the crowd was a mixture of humans and moogles laughing and showing of enjoyment.

“I can’t wait to try that roller coaster ride!” screamed Kairi as she dragged Sora with her. Roxas and Namine followed them.

The four of them had a day of their life. They rode on four type of roller coaster until they’re dizzy. Kairi and Namine screamed as they enter the haunted house and almost choked Sora and Roxas. At a game booth, Sora won Kairi a Big Teddy Bear and Kairi gave a kiss on the cheek as a reward. Roxas won Namine a new set of paint-brush and Namine hugged him shyly. It was already midday when they stopped at a café for a bite to eat. After filling their stomach with home-made Shepherd Pie and Chocolate brownies, Roxas went to check the band that was performing his favourite song while Namine excused herself as she looked for a bathroom. When both of them were away, Kairi whispered confidentially to Sora, “I worried about Namine. Roxas sometimes treated her as if he is oblivious to her feelings.”

Sora also nodded. “Me too but you know how grumpy and moody Roxas can be. He is just like that!”

  Kairi looked around. Making sure that Roxas and Namine haven’t come back yet, she whispered with a confident smile, “Don’t worry! I have a plan to make them a perfect couple!”

Sora sat straighter in his sit. “I’m all ears!”

Roxas and Namine came back ten minutes later. Sora and Kairi, who paid the bills, stood up with innocents looks on their faces.

“Finally you’re here!” said Kairi.

“Why not we go cruise in the love tunnel before heading home?” asked Sora.

Namine gave delighted yelp while Roxas moodily nodded.

Sora bought four tickets to the love tunnel and he joined the rest. He gave Namine and Roxas their ticket but strangely gave Kairi two tickets. They joined the line. When it was their turn, Kairi cried, “Damn it! I dropped the tickets into the water!”

And sure enough, two tickets were slowly sinking into the water.

“Oh Sora!” cried Kairi. “I’m so sorry! Those tickets must have caused you a bomb!”

“That’s okay Kairi”, Sora consoled her. “We can always buy another ticket.” He turned towards Roxas and Namine. “You two go ahead first. We catch with you later.”

“Now wait a minute.”  Roxas began.

“We can wait…” said Namine.

“See you later!” cried Kairi winking as she and Sora dashed before they could be stop by them. Roxas and Namine stared at each other.

“What was that all about?” asked Roxas.

Namine just shrugged. “Should we go in?”

Roxas looked at the tunnel and smiled. “Lets.”

They got in the boat and they began the cruise. The tunnel was full of flying angels and scenes of romantic events.

“This is so romantic.” Namine murmured.

“Yeah”, Roxas agreed and for the first time in five months, he felt that his heart is full of emotions that he cannot describe. Taking Namine’s hand, he said, “Namine, I have forgotten how warm it’s to be with you! I feel so cold over the past few months.”

Namine leaned her head against Roxas’ shoulder. “Same goes with me”, she murmured and added, “I love you Roxas.”

Roxas, taken aback, stroke Namine’s blonde hair and said, “I love you too.”

Without warning, Roxas and Namine were kissing each other so fiercely that even though they reached the ending of the ride, they were still kissing. Finally, Namine gently pushed Roxas away as they climbed off the boat. When they exit the area, they met Sora and Kairi who were waiting for them.

“So how was the ride?” asked Kairi.

Roxas and Namine shared a guilty look.

“It was fine!” they replied together.

Together, they walked out of the amusement park and after walking Roxas and Namine back home; Sora and Kairi went to the beach to watch the sun set.

“What a fun day!” said Sora as he placed his arms behind his head. “It such a pity the amusement park is only today!”

“And Roxas and Namine were holding hands when we walked back!” said Kairi with glee. “Well, my plans always work!”

“Hey!” Sora cried with mock offence. “If my magic didn’t work in the tunnels, your plan will end up in failure! At least give me some credit!”

Kairi smiled. “Yeah, we worked well together!”

And under the beautiful sunset, Sora and Kairi kissed romantically.
